Climate Week - together we make a difference

To take responsibility for our shared future and contribute to a sustainable society, Jönköping County needs to reduce its fossil emissions by at least 20 per cent. This year's Climate Week will take place throughout the county from 13 to 19 October to highlight how we can work together to meet climate challenges. The week is organized by the Climate Council, with Jönköping University (JU) as one of the co-organizers.

Climate Week is a recurring initiative with the aim of contributing to the joint achievement of the county's vision and goals for climate and energy strategy. It is an opportunity to share knowledge and be inspired.

Climate Conference

One of the activities during the week is the Climate Conference with the theme Hope, Action and Business Sense in the Climate Challenges (Swe: Hopp, handling och affärsmässighet i klimatutmaningarna), which highlights how we can meet these challenges together.

Catherine Legrand, Vice President for Sustainability and Work Environment at JU, is JU's member of the Climate Council. She encourages both staff and students to participate.

“The conference offers inspiring lectures, panel discussions, and concrete examples of how we can work together to meet climate challenges with knowledge, fairness, and the power to change. We hope that many people from JU will participate – both to represent the University and to gain new perspectives and opportunities for collaboration,” says Catherine Legrand.

Speakers during the conference: Daniel Nordström (Gapminder), Maria Soxbo (Klimatklubben), Henric Wahlgren (PacsOn), Jenny Jakobsson & Anton Lundberg (Hållbarhetsteamet), Moderator: Cecilia Nebel

Time: October 15, 8:30-12:00
