Networks

The Think Tank DoIT(Delaktighets- och Inkluderings-Tankesmedjan) wants, through discussion and reflection, to focus on challenges we face in society today and discuss different perspectives on participation, inclusion, equality and learning beyond individual categories such as gender, ethnicity, class, disability, etc.

The purpose of all DoIT meetings has been and is to continuously meet and talk in a form that combines networking, culture, research and practice from different sectors. In DoIT, we meet across sectors of society in a common effort to learn from each other and to contribute to each other's work.

RUC - Regional Development Centers are located at the higher education institutions that offer teacher training and serve as arenas for collaboration between the institution and preschools/schools/principals. The School of Education and Communication (HLK) is part of the national RUC network.

The national RUC network brings together all the country's RUCs, regional development centers or equivalent collaboration functions at higher education institutions with teacher education. The purpose of the network is to promote the work of higher education institutions in joint school collaboration issues, act as a partner to national actors in the school and to serve as an arena for the exchange of experience and collegial learning.

Once a semester, a national network meeting is organized. In between, participants can meet in regional networks. The RUC network has appointed a working group that, together with the organizing higher education institution, plans and prepares issues for the upcoming network meeting and also takes care of any questions from various stakeholders.

For contact with the national RUC network, please contact Jesper Boesen, responsible for collaboration and internationalization at HLK.

The Principal Academy is a professional development initiative for school principals in our region. Municipalities nominate principals, and approximately 40 are selected each year to participate in the program over the course of one academic year.
The third round of the Principal Academy took place during the 2024/2025 school year.

During the sessions, researchers and guest lecturers present current topics relevant to the education sector.

These presentations are followed by facilitated group discussions aimed at sharing knowledge and experiences. The goal is to promote collaboration, strengthen professional competence, and support the development of school leadership.

The theme for the 2024/2025 academic year was: "How can you lead and develop your school towards equity and strong outcomes?"

Examples of researchers and speakers who have contributed to the Principal Academy include: Lars Svedberg, Niclas Rönnström, Marika Andersson, Per Kornhall, Åsa Hirsh, Erik Nilsson, Peter Wall, and Daniel Sundberg.

“The Principal Academy is a unique opportunity for school leaders in the region to engage in professional development while also strengthening their networks with colleagues across the county. We see learning together and from one another as a key success factor for the municipalities in our region.”
Per-Erik Lorentzon, Head of Education, Vaggeryd Municipality

Rebecka Florin Sädbom, Senior Lecturer in Education, leads one of the afternoon group discussions at the Principal Academy.
