Civics/Social Studies Requirement (other eligibility)
Applicants who do not meet the Civics/Social Studies requirements through their high school studies, can fulfill the requirements by:
At least 5 years work experience
To verify this, one or more work certificates must be submitted that shows:
- You have worked for at least five years
- Start- and end date of your employment(s)
- The extent of work expressed in total hours, total days, or percentages of a 1-year full time equivalent
- The certificate(s) must be dated and signed by the employer (for example by a manager or by Human Resources)
At least 30 ECTS completed in higher education in the area of Social Sciences
To verify this, transcript(s) from a recognized higher education institution must be submitted that shows:
- Which courses were taken
- The grades of each course approved
- The transcript(s) must be dated, signed and issued by the school

Please note that the GED examination does not fulfil the English language entry requirement, as it is only equivalent to the Swedish course English 5. GED is also only equivalent to Mathematics 1b, which is not sufficient for any bachelor programmes at Jönköping University.

An official transcript from a US or US affiliated international school must be sent directly from your school to our Admissions Office, by post in a sealed envelope or from official school registrar's e-mail (or through Parchment or other third-party supplier) to admissions.office@ju.se. If you have additional college studies you would like to be reviewed for specific subjects, the same process is required to submit academic transcripts from American universities/colleges.
Transcripts from International High Schools operating within the American education system must include information about the accrediting organisation so we can determine whether the school has an accepted regional accreditation in the USA. If this information is not on the transcript, it must be stated on the diploma or separate appendix.
