The Master's programmes in Industrial Design and Digital Product Development at JTH are both newly made for the autumn semester 2025. Among other things, they have a greater focus on sustainability and, like most JTH programmes, are open for late registration.
Two newly made master's programmes start this fall
Two master's programmes at the School of Engineering (JTH), Jönköping University (JU) have undergone major changes and received new names for the autumn semester 2025. These are Industrial Design and Digital Product Development.

Peter Andersson, programme manager for the master's programme Industrial Design at JTH.
The Industrial Design programme comes from one part of the Master's program Product Design, which ends in the spring semester of 2026. The programme is aimed at engineers who want to complement their technical skills with a design perspective.
Can work as industrial designers
With a focus on form and function, the Industrial Design programme provides a comprehensive understanding of the entire product development process. All programne courses have been redesigned and parts of the content have been moved so that, for example, CAD teaching is spread over several courses instead of one.
"I think the new programme structure is clearer for the students, who after graduation can work as, for example, industrial designers, says Peter Andersson, programme manager for the Industrial Design programme.
Learning to create sustainable products
The Digital Product Development programme teaches students to create sustainable products through digital processes. The programme combines hands-on experience with advanced engineering software and a broad perspective in product and production development.
Students become skilled at streamlining their work, gain a great understanding of production and can work as a development engineer, among other things, after graduation.
"There is a huge need for these services among manufacturing companies," says Roland Stolt, acting programme manager for Digital Product Development.
What the two new master's programs have in common is that they will have a greater focus on sustainability and circularity. Like most JTH programmes, they are open for late registration.
